Hello Colleagues,
We at the GTU Library, are moving from a Macintosh to a PC platform.
We are in need of some inexpensive, shareware, or freeware software that will
allow us to dialup to our Internet Service Provider and do various Internet
tasks such as email, browsing the WEB, Newsgroups, gopher, Telnet and FTP.
Each function can be done by a separate program, but they all need to be able
to work together.
We are particularly interested in software that can be set up to be
used by multiple users on a single workstation. This means that we will need
to have separate mail boxes and preferences for Newsgroups, gopher, FTP and
WEB bookmarks, for each user. For the Macintosh platform, there is software
available to do all of the above functions.
Does anyone know of names of software, available over the Internet,
which is easy to set up, and will let us do these tasks on a PC running
Windows NT workstation? Your help is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Hadi Amjadi
