Reference/Electronic Access librarian: 12 month position thru August
15, 1997. Responsibilities include reference, bibliographic
instruction, and significant software troubleshooting as the
implementation of an automated system continues. Qualifications:
ALA/MLS, experience with database and Internet searching, knowledge
of microcomputer applications, experience with automated systems, and
excellent interpersonal skills. Small college experience preferred.
Salary: $27,000-$29,000. Send letter of application, resume,

BUSINESS REFERENCE LIBRARIAN/BIBLIOGRAPHER
Reporting to the Head, Humanities and Social Science Department, the
Business Reference Librarian/Bibliographer is responsible for collection
development in business, with special emphasis in Accounting, Management,
and Marketing. Serves as faculty liaison to departments within the
nationally ranked Richard T. Farmer School of Business Administration
(see U.S. News & World Report, September 18, 1995). Provides general
reference services in the Humanities and Social Science Department,
including bibliographic instruction, data base searching, and other
assigned duties. The department has a tradition of working collegially
and has implemented a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program.
QUALIFICATIONS: An MLS from an ALA accredited program; reference
experience; experience using electronic data bases, and the Internet;
effective oral/written communication skills and willingness to work with
Business School faculty in developing library services; evidence of a
strong service orientation; and willingness to work in a team
environment. Undergraduate (or advanced degree) in business or
economics; or 1-3 years current experience as a business librarian mandatory.
The Miami University Libraries contain over 1.6 million volumes, and
extensive collection of government documents, and subscribe to over 6,000
journals. They serve over 750 teaching and research faculty, 15,000
undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students. The Libraries have 43
professional librarians and 46 support staff.
Miami University is a selective institution, with a strong commitment to
liberal education, located in Oxford, Ohio, about 35 miles northwest of
Cincinnati.

system. Minimum salary is between $28,000 - $30,000, depending upon
