The Idaho State Library will be telecasting its 1996 Emerging
Technology Teleconference from 10-Noon (MOUNTAIN
TIME), on Tuesday, July 23, 1996. The teleconference is
entitled Home Pages and the World Wide Web.
Topics to be covered include:
How the Internet is affecting your library and its services
A demonstration of the WWW
How to find information using the Internet
Effective searching techniques on the WWW
Basic home page design
Presenters will include Carol Oakes, Reference Librarian at
the Boise State University Library and Dan Lester, Network
Information Coordinator at the Boise State University Library.
Carol and Dan have done a number of presentations around
the Pacific Northwest on these topics and had a very well
received segment on last year's Emerging Technology
Teleconference.
We would be glad to share this teleconference with other
states at no charge. However, I would like to have a single
point of contact for each state (preferably a state library staff
member). As soon as we have the satellite coordinates and
handouts, I will send the the coordinates and one set of
handouts to the point of contact for each state. They can
then distribute them to others in the state.
