POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
REFERENCE LIBRARIAN (10 a.m. - 7 p.m.)
The Briscoe Library of The University of Texas Health Science
Center at San Antonio is seeking applicants for the position of
Reference Librarian. The tentative schedule for this full time
position is Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Note: Work
schedule may vary dependent on need; evenings and weekend work
may be required.) The duties include assistance and instruction
to users on library databases, the Internet, and computer-assisted =
instruction programs; the installation of computer software,
network maintenance and trouble shooting; and participation
in library orientation and instruction programs.
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE an A.L.A. accredited MLS; coursework
in library reference, computer science and/or applicable
experience in a library or educational computing environment
desirable; familiarity with Windows and Macintosh programs;
experience using MEDLINE database, strong public service
orientation and good communication skills. Salary: $27,000
minimum, depending on level of experience.
