This is my experience with the MAXINE in the test cluster, as of a couple weeks
ago.

The monitor is an APA-size, but color, so don't let your resources be fooled!
In addition, there seems to be some sort of color convergence problem in the
upper left-hand corner. The fact that this occurs in the upper-left corner is
an interesting problem, because it's the default location for zephyrgrams and
the startup window (as pointed out by Peter Roden). There are convergence
controls on the Sun monitor, but not this one, which brings up a point:
wouldn't it be better to get a monitor with external convergence controls so
that you could alter the convergence depending on which part of the screen was
most important to the user currently at the workstation console? Or, in
anticipation of these problems, perhaps it would be better just to get a
black-and-white or grayscale monitor?

The foot rest is a great idea, if you can secure it somehow so it doesn't get
pilfered. The keyboard cord is too short - some people with wrist problems
find it much more comfortable to keep the keyboard on the lap, and this cord is
just too short to do that.

Complete information and labels should be placed regarding how/if the monitors
should be adjusted with all those funky controls on the side, how to reset it
to the defaults, and consulting could use a document with *full* information on
how reliable the drives and disks are, availability of 2.88 meg floppies,
compatibility and restrictions of using these 3.5" disks and other 3.5" disks
in these 3.5" drives and other 3.5" drives, where the reboot switch is on the
back, and any other useful information regarding the machine.
