Ultrix supports a "shared" serial port so you can have
a getty on the port to allow dialin and at the same time
be able to run an outgoing kermit session (providing
nobody is currently coming in on the serial line) without
any reconfiguration.
Although you could do this on a DS3100, the maxine appears
to have full modem control so if you set up the digital
phone or modem correctly, you don't have to fool with it.
Next trick will be to figure out whether this is possible
with the powerstation. So far, I don't even know how to
get a tty line activated.
