Hi Peter-
  The 220 is now running with a 8508 grayscale monitor instead of the color
monitor.  However, it is using 256 shades of gray instead of 16; changing
this would have required removing some chips on the video adapter.  Young
and I did not do this because we did not have the appropriate tools to pull
these chips, and were worried about damaging them in the process.
  I'll update the "hardware configuration" part of the poster about the 220
to reflect the changes-
