I've been using perl for a couple years now.

I still write (bourne) shell scripts for simple tasks, but as soon as
it gets complicated, I switch to perl.

There's still an awful lot of perl I don't use (e.g., sockets, select,
dbm stuff), but I would be willing to participate in a perl round-table.
Heck, I could probably work up a 30 minute quick-and-dirty intro to perl
(at least, as I use it).
