I ended up asking both pmm@cisco.com and jes@sgi.com about PITS,
and got this reply from jes@sgi.com (none from pmm yet):
PITS was released to Paul Moriarty at Cisco, pmm@cisco.com. He is
going to port it, and make it available. You should contact him about
schedule, availability, etc.
