                            POSITION AVAILABLE

          PROGRAMMER - UNIX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR IN CAMBRIDGE MA

          The Distributed Systems Group at Bolt Beranek and Newman
     (BBN) is seeking an experienced Senior UNIX System Administrator
     & Programmer.  This software support group covers a wide range of
     UNIX platforms such as SUNs, HPs, DEC (Ultrix), and Silicon
     Graphics.

          This senior technical position will be responsible for
     development of distributed system administration applications and
     high level technical support to the BBN Computing Environment.
     Additional duties will include maintaining several SUN file servers
     which utilize the Legato backup package, X and GNU software.

          The candidate must have excellent C and shell programming
     skills and experience designing, developing and maintaining
     distributed UNIX system administration applications, X windows, 
     profiling and benchmarking applications.  Experience with perl 
     is a plus.  Excellent communication skills are required.

          Education & Experience Requirements:
     Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience as a UNIX System Administrator
     and a masters degree in Computer Science.
