hello--
Like all other network admins we occasionally have a situation that
requires diagnostics above the physical layer. For years we have
relied on HP Lanalyzers, and although these are good for building
muclse mass (carrying them around) they can be difficult to quickly setup
to analyze traffic between two nodes.
Do any of you have any favorite protocol analyzers??
Something that runs on a DOS portable? or Sun Portable?
I have seen the "sniffer" (thought it was costly), I have BRIEFLY
seen Metrix which runs on a Sparc portable.
Any experience will be greatly appreciated, I hope this is the
correct forum?, I am new to the list.
Thanks
