I don't have the docs here, but from the inspector window you can ask
to see all the soups.  I created one in the inspector window and, it
certainly was still there a few days later when I looked again,

You can also see the "BACKUP_<whatever>" soups on a PCMCIA card.  

There is a notion of an owning app for a soup, it gets notified when
the soup changes.  (I seem to remember.)  Something I don't understand
is how apps are installed.  There is an install script and deinstall
script the gets run (so an app can clean up and soups that should get
nuked), but I see no access to those scripts from NTK.  How do apps
install and deinstall and more to cards, etc.?

(And am I not on the npc list or is there no traffic there?)
