NEWTON SALES BRISK. Apple reports brisk sales of its new hand-held
computers since its debut on August 2. Based on feedback from the
150 stores in New York and Boston that are serving as initial
outlets, demand has exceeded expectations. The real test, however,
will come after Labor Day, when Newton distribution goes

NEWTON COUSIN. SweetPea, the code name for the larger cousin of
the Apple Newton, is scheduled for release in January. (Atlanta
