NO NEWTON YET-BUT THERE'S A USER GROUP
The first product to incorporate Newton technology (see interview on 
page 8) won't be in consumers' hands for a few more months, but there's 
already a Newton User Group in the works! The Boston Computer Society 
(BCS) is taking the lead by creating a special-interest group dedicated 
to Newton.
   "We decided to start the group because Newton promises to be a 
significant technology," says Al Willis, BCS board member and long-time 
BCS activist. "It extends the definition of what a personal computer is 
and the BCS is very interested in it. We're very excited about 
introducing Newton to our 23,000 members."
   The BCS plans to offer monthly Newton meetings as well as telephone 
support, an Internet-based mailing list, and a newsletter containing 
information about Newton-based products. The Internet mailing list for 
the BCS Newton group is already operational.
