Drinking Game
RULES
Watching Star Trek: the Next Generation, have a sip of beer whenever
any of the following conditions are successfully met:
When anybody says...
- "Open Hailing Frequencies"
- "Medical Emergency"
- "Belay that Order"
- "Energize"
- "Hell", "Damn" or any other swearing. See Riker's special swearing
rules.
Whenever Picard says...
- "Make It So"
- "Engage"
- "Come"; two if said in his personal quarters.
- "Captain's log"; two if it's supplemental.
- "Proceed"
- "Number One"
Whenever Worf says...
- "Impressive"
- "Admirable"
- "Grrrrr" A simple sneer qualifies.
Whenever Data says...
- "Fascinating"
- "Interesting"
- "Accessing"
Whenever...
- Riker Swears, two drinks; three if it's "Hell"; whole beer if he
asks "What the Hell is going on!"
- Riker walks forward as if he's trying to knock down an imaginary
door with his forehead.
- Picard straightens his uniform; two if Riker does.
- Patrick Stewart tries to speak French.
- Picard has an accident or is attacked; two drinks if it draws
blood.
- Data performs a self-diagnostic.
- Data's innards are revealed.
- Data uses his strength.
- Data pets or holds "Spot".
- Action is sped up so we see Data's superhuman speed.
- Geordie observes some strange electro-magnetic phenomenon.
- Geordie's visor is taken or knocked off.
- Beverly can't figure out some bizarre medical problem.
- Deanna senses something really shocking.
- Deanna tells us again how much she loves chocolate; two if she
actually eats something chocolate.
- Deanna gives us a Betazoid insight into something that's really
obvious.
- A crew member drinks; two if it's Picard; three if it's Picard
drinking tea; four if the tea is identified as "Earl Grey".
- A bridge officer is shown in casual clothes (one drink per officer,
per scene); two drinks if it's Beverly in a sweater; three drinks if
it's Picard in his chest revealing bedwear.
- A bridge officer appears in official dress uniform (one drink per
officer, per scene).
- Every time they use transporter room three.
- Every time somebody is addressed by his or her first name; two if
there's some kind of sexual tension going on.
- Two people kiss, two drinks.
- Somebody reads a book.
- Anyone plays an instrument; two if it's Data.
- A holodeck is used.
- Somebody preaches the Prime Directive; two if it's not Picard.
- Somebody preaches about Humanity's Unique Potential.
- A bridge officer is possessed by an alien entity (one drink per
officer); four if it's Picard.
- An ancient earth saying is brought up; two if Data has to have it
explained to him.
- Somebody implies that Ten Forward is a happenin' place.
- Every time a force field is activated.
- They play the "ominous horns" theme music.
- A shuttle craft has a malfunction; two if it crash lands.
- A "Level 1" diagnostic is performed.
- Klingon is spoken. Two drinks per scene in which Klingons are alone
and have no obvious reason to speak English but do so anyway.
- Each scene in which a nifty new Romulan ship is shown.
- Yellow Alert, one drink; two if it's a Red Alert; three if it's an
Intruder Alert.
- Whole beer whenever the saucer section separates.
- They contact somebody on the communicator/intercom without going to
a panel or touching anything.
- A communicator isn't working or is blocked; two if it's out of range.
- Another Starship Captain or Star Fleet Command officer boards the
Enterprise.
- Every time a bridge command is handed over.
- There's a countdown; a whole beer if it's a self destruct countdown.
- The Enterprise crew avoids a confrontation instead of blasting away
with full Phasers and Photon Torpedo spread.
- Each scene in which the Enterprise actually fights (shots must be
fired), two drinks per scene.
- Somebody uses a hand phaser set "to stun"; two if it's set "to kill".
- New Trek contradicts a fact from Old Trek (Unfortunately, players
may be too drunk to adjudicate this rule).
- You're thirsty.
