I am house/dog-sitting for someone in my lab. THey have a 3 year old
chocolate labrador. It is so energetic and loves people. They have
a really nice house with a pool table and a deck. I'm having fun. I was doing
my laundry there on saturday and I had some of the clothes on the floor
as I was sorting, and well, the dog ate my underwear. Stop laughing! it wasn't
unny. It grabbed it and wouldn't give it back. Steve and Marcy told me that
if it ever had something and wouldn't give it up, to trade it for a dog
biscuit. I got the biscuit and came down the stairs just in time to see it
swallow my underwear. Great, just great! This could only happen to me!
I didn't know what to do, so I called the vet, and got the answering service
and had to explain to her so she could call the vet and explain to him. His
biggest concern was that the underwear wasn't clean. (so sorry, I was just
about to do that!) They told me to feed the dog Metamucil with its food, and
that it would probably just digest it since it was 100% cotton. Good thing I
buy quality!! I went to the drug store to get Metamucil. I found that there
are 6 different kinds of Metamucil, and I didn't know which to use, so I had
to ask the pharmacist for her professional opinion on which was best to feed
a dog who had just eaten a pair of underwear - dirty underwear. I had the
whole store laughing. The dog finally spit them up about 24 hours later -
half digested - it was pretty gross. I'm just glad it didn't choke on them,
cause I wasn't there when it happened. Now I have to think of a nice clever
way of telling Steve and Marcy that their dog has a thing for women's
underwear! And yes, the dog is a male.
