Well I figured it out, but I am not sure I understand
it. The machine afsdb1 was the machine listed in
my /etc/krb.conf file. Over the weekend our sysadmin
moved the server to another machine called omega.
In order to cause the minimum amount of confusion, he
gave omega 2 IP addresses. One was the IP address
omega originally had and the other was the IP address
that afsdb1 used to have.
The transarc AFS clients work well like this, but it
confuses the krbkth stuff. If I change the server in
/etc/krb.conf from afsdb1 to omega, then everything
works well.
Jim
