From responses to date, it appears that the event will focus on discussing protocol level changes to AFS. Topics currently proposed include extended callbacks and callback security, callback consistency models, volume status extensions, client UUIDs, new security mechanisms (including rxk5), changes to FetchStatus, bulk transport mechanisms and rxosd. It is hoped that documents describing these changes will be made available prior to the Hackathon so that those unable to attend in person may also contribute to the discussion. If you wish to attend the Hackathon, and have not already confirmed your place, please let me know at sxw@inf.ed.ac.uk. Numbers are limited, and early responses are appreciated! A number of us are also planning on heading direct from Edinburgh to the European AFS Conference in Rome the following week. Feel free to contact me for more details, including information on travel and accommodation options.
