Yes, whoever fixed nnpfs for FreeBSD 6... thanks! =20
There hasn't been much public feedback about my particular arla
port. I'm planning on adding a make.conf entry for the cache dir,
and changing the default to /var/cache/arla. OpenAFS seems to be
using /var/cache/openafs, so that makes sense to me. =20
I'm wondering what people's thoughts are about installing into
/usr/local/arla vs. /usr/local. The primary perk is it avoids
conflicting with OpenAFS binaries installed in /usr/local. It's
not exactly hier(7)-correct. The other options I could think of
are:
1. Prefix the arla executables with something (arla- probably)
and install into $PREFIX/bin, etc. Install headers into
$PREFIX/include/arla and libs into $PREFIX/lib/arla, and
so on.
2. Install the arla executables directly into $PREFIX/bin, etc.
and just let OpenAFS and arla stomp on each other.
3. Cherry pick bits of arla to install into $PREFIX/bin, etc
like startarla and other things that don't conflict with
OpenAFS. Other things install into (a) $PREFIX/bin/ with arla-
as a prefix or (b) $PREFIX/bin/arla . =20
I'm pretty sure #2 won't fly with the port maintainers (and
rightfully so). #3 is a lot of work. Any thoughts?
