In case there needed to be any more smoke to the fire, Russian trademark fi=
lings reveal that Apple is readying the release of three new Macs running m=
acOS Sierra. The products have apparently passed the Russian registration, =
labelled as 'portable personal computer models' with model identifiers A170=
6, A1707 and A1708.This all but confirms Apple plans to launch three new Ma=
c laptops at its media event on Thursday, corroborating a KGI report from o=
ver the weekend. These product identifiers likely correspond to two new Mac=
Book Pros and a new ultrathin 13-inch MacBook as a sibling to the 12-inch M=
acBook =C3=A2=E2=82=AC=C2=A6The same source correctly leaked the iPhone 7, =
Apple Watch Series 1 and Apple Watch Series 2 a week before Apple's Septemb=
er event last month. The Russian regulations are mandatory for companies to=
launch new electronics product that use encryption and cryptography techno=
logies, which encompasses almost all of Apple's product line. The existence =
of the products in the database
indicates that the devices will be available to buy very soon, likely going=
up for order the same day as the unveiling event on October 27th. The leak=
does not spill too many specific details about Apple's unreleased products=
, mentioning only the model numbers and a summary description of 'portable =
personal computers models'.screen-shot-2016-10-24-at-14-47-49However, other=
rumors can fill in the gaps. The weekend KGI report said Apple plans to la=
unch three new laptops, a 13-inch Retina MacBook and the long-anticipated r=
efresh of the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro.The new MacBook Pro is expect=
ed to be a major update, featuring significantly improved internal componen=
ts, Touch ID, a new OLED shortcut bar above the keyboard and USB-C ports wi=
th Thunderbolt 3 enclosed in a new thinner chassis design. Although the dev=
ices will represent substantial performance upgrades over the aging models =
on sale today, it is still not clear whether Apple will ship Skylake or the=
 newer Kaby
Lake Intel CPUs.The other new Mac expected is a 13-inch version of the curr=
ent 12-inch Retina MacBook, know for only featuring one port. Details about=
the 13-inch MacBook are murky but it will be interesting to see how it jus=
tifies in the product lineup aside from a minor bump in screen dimensions. =
The fate of the MacBook Air is also unclear, with some previous publication=
s reporting that the 13-inch Air would gain USB-C ports whilst the 11-inch =
version is discontinued. It is possible that details about the 13-inch MacB=
ook have been wrongly attributed as a 13-inch MacBook Air.We'll know for su=
re in just a few days =C3=A2=E2=82=AC=E2=80=9D Apple's October event kicks =
off this Thursday at 10 AM PT. 9to5Mac will be bringing live coverage of al=
l the announcements, so stay tuned.Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 fills the S Pe=

trategy for Thwarting Denial of Service Cyberattacksby Reuters OCTOBER 24, =
2016, 8:51 AM EDTCompanies that used multiple servers saw less of an impact=
from last Friday's attack.Companies can reduce the risk from the type of
cyberattack that took out major websites on Friday by using multiple vendor=
s for the critical Internet service known as a domain name service, or DNS,=
companies and security experts said on Sunday."We have advocated for years=
for redundancy in your infrastructure," said Kyle York, chief strategy off=
icer for Dyn, the New Hampshire DNS provider that was attacked on Friday. "=
I don't think you can ever be safe enough or redundant enough."Hackers unle=
ashed a complex attack on the Internet through common devices like webcams =
and digital recorders and cut access to some of the world's best-known webs=
ites on Friday, a stunning breach of global Internet stability.York said cl=
ients who used multiple servers "saw less of an impact."Using multiple DNS =
providers can, however, make managing traffic more complicated and costly, =
experts said.Friday's cyberattack alarmed security experts because it repre=
sented a new type of threat rooted in the proliferation of simple digital d=
evices such as
webcams. Such devices often lack proper security, and hackers found a way t=
o harness millions of them to flood a target with so much traffic that it c=
an't cope. The attack on Dyn and the resulting outage started in the Eastern=
United States on Friday and then spread to other parts of the country and =
Europe, affecting companies including Twitter and Paypal. DNS providers suc=
h as Dyn act as a switchboard for Internet traffic."It's important to imple=
ment diversity geographically, as well as architecturally," for a defense a=
gainst domain name service attacks, said Andy Ellis, chief security officer=
at Akamai Technologies, which helped Dyn recover on Friday.Businesses can =
choose up to eight authoritative domain service providers, and some of the =
hardest-hit sites were customers who only picked Dyn.Eliminating the threat=
from the unsecured devices that make up what's often called the Internet o=
f things will be a much tougher task, however. Many inexpensive webcams, co=
nnected
thermostats, baby monitors and other products lack even basic security and =
sometimes use hard-coded passwords that are simple to break, security exper=
ts said.Law enforcement authorities said on Friday they are investigating t=
he attack. The tools making the new type of attack possible were released o=
n the Internet by unknown hackers last month, thus creating a long list of =
possible suspects."This is the new norm, the Internet wasn't designed with =
these kinds of attacks in mind," said cyber security expert and entrepreneu=
r Barrett Lyon.Long-term solutions would likely require governments to take=
far more responsibility for mandating Internet security, experts agreed.Ch=
inese electronics component manufacturer Hangzhou Xiongmai Technology said =
Sunday that weak default passwords on its products inadvertently played a r=
ole in the cyber attack, according to a report from IDG News Service. The co=
mpany said it has patched the flaws and now is asking customers to change t=
he default
password the first time they use it.Pokemon GO Celebrates Halloween With Fi=
rst EventOctober 24, 2016 - Written By Tom DawsonWhile the big hype surroun=
ding Pokemon GO may be done with by now, the game certainly isn't going any=
where. Sure, the hoards of players storming Central Park might no longer be=
here, but the game has recently been crowned the first to reach $600 Milli=
on of in-game revenue. Over the Summer, there were a number of ideas surrou=
nding updates and other additions to the game that Niantic would take into =
consideration, and while it appears as though the firm had been taking it e=
asy over the Summer, the first event is about to get started, this time in =
honor of Halloween. Events were one of the ideas that Niantic's chief had t=
alked about during Comic Con earlier this year. For Halloween, certain Pokem=
on will become more common, no matter where you are, and there will also be=
more candies rewarded with each capture. The event will be running from Oc=
tober 26th
until November 1st. The event will make the three original ghost Pokemon of=
Gastly, Haunter and Gengar more common as well as Zubat, Golbat, Drowzee a=
nd Hypno. These are Pokemon that perhaps everyone playing the game has alre=
ady caught, but until the firm gets around to adding in more Pokemon, this =
is perhaps the best they could do for the game. When capturing, as well as =
transferring to the Professor, users will be given double the amount of can=
dies they would usually get, which will certainly help those that haven't m=
anaged to evolve a Haunter or Gengar finally tick off that box in their Pok=
eDex.This is the sort of event that a lot of fans will be happy to see, and=
given that a lot of families will be out and about knocking on doors trick=
or treating, Pokemon GO and Halloween to be a good fit for each other. If =
seeing more of the above Pokemon doesn't do it for you, then perhaps the id=
ea of getting twice the candy rewards for a buddy Pokemon might, as this wi=
ll make it
easier to evolve tough Pokemon such as Magikarp and evolutions of the three=
starter Pokemon that traditionally require more candy.

and 15-inch MacBook Pro.The new MacBook Pro is expected to be a major updat=
e, featuring significantly improved internal components, Touch ID, a new OL=

sed in a new thinner chassis design. Although the devices will represent su=
bstantial performance upgrades over the aging models on sale today, it is s=

h Retina MacBook, know for only featuring one port. Details about the 13-in=
ch MacBook are murky but it will be interesting to see how it justifies in =
the product lineup aside from a minor bump in screen dimensions. The fate o=

ervice Cyberattacksby Reuters OCTOBER 24, 2016, 8:51 AM EDTCompanies that u=
sed multiple servers saw less of an impact from last Friday's attack.Compan=
ies can reduce the risk from the type of cyberattack that took out major we=
bsites on Friday by using multiple vendors for the critical Internet servic=
e known as a domain name service, or DNS, companies and security experts sa=
id on Sunday.&quot; We have advocated for years for redundancy in your infra=
structure,&quot; said Kyle York, chief strategy officer for Dyn, the New Ha=
mpshire DNS provider that was attacked on Friday. &quot;I don't think you c=
an ever be safe enough or redundant enough.&quot;Hackers unleashed a comple=
x attack on the Internet through common devices like webcams and digital re=
corders and cut access to some of the world's best-known websites on Friday=
, a stunning breach of global Internet stability.York said clients who used=
multiple servers &quot;saw less of an impact.&quot;Using multiple DNS prov=
iders can, however, make managing traffic more complicated and costly, expe=
rts said.Friday's cyberattack alarmed security experts because it represent=
ed a new type of threat rooted in the proliferation of simple digital devic=
es such as webcams. Such devices often lack proper security, and hackers fo=
und a way to harness millions of them to flood a target with so much traffi=
c that it can't cope. The attack on Dyn and the resulting outage started in =
the Eastern United States on Friday and then spread to other parts of the c=
ountry and Europe, affecting companies including Twitter and Paypal. DNS pr=
oviders such as Dyn act as a switchboard for Internet traffic.&quot; It's im=
portant to implement diversity geographically, as well as architecturally,&=
quot; for a defense against domain name service attacks, said Andy Ellis, c=
hief security officer at Akamai Technologies, which helped Dyn recover on F=
riday.Businesses can choose up to eight authoritative domain service provid=
ers, and some of the hardest-hit sites were customers who only picked Dyn.E=
liminating the threat from the unsecured devices that make up what's often =
called the Internet of things will be a much tougher task, however. Many in=
expensive webcams, connected thermostats, baby monitors and other products =
lack even basic security and sometimes use hard-coded passwords that are si=
mple to break, security experts said.Law enforcement authorities said on Fr=
iday they are investigating the attack. The tools making the new type of at=
tack possible were released on the Internet by unknown hackers last month, =
thus creating a long list of possible suspects.&quot; This is the new norm, =
the Internet wasn't designed with these kinds of attacks in mind,&quot; sai=
d cyber security expert and entrepreneur Barrett Lyon.Long-term solutions w=
ould likely require governments to take far more responsibility for mandati=
ng Internet security, experts agreed.Chinese electronics component manufact=
urer Hangzhou Xiongmai Technology said Sunday that weak default passwords o=
n its products inadvertently played a role in the cyber attack, according t=
o a report from IDG News Service. The company said it has patched the flaws =
and now is asking customers to change the default password the first time t=
hey use it.Pokemon GO Celebrates Halloween With First EventOctober 24, 2016=
 - Written By Tom DawsonWhile the big hype surrounding Pokemon GO may be do=
ne with by now, the game certainly isn't going anywhere. Sure, the hoards o=
f players storming Central Park might no longer be here, but the game has r=
ecently been crowned the first to reach $600 Million of in-game revenue. Ov=
er the Summer, there were a number of ideas surrounding updates and other a=
dditions to the game that Niantic would take into consideration, and while =
it appears as though the firm had been taking it easy over the Summer, the =
first event is about to get started, this time in honor of Halloween. Event=
s were one of the ideas that Niantic's chief had talked about during Comic =
Con earlier this year. For Halloween, certain Pokemon will become more commo=
n, no matter where you are, and there will also be more candies rewarded wi=
th each capture. The event will be running from October 26th until November=
1st. The event will make the three original ghost Pokemon of Gastly, Haunt=
er and Gengar more common as well as Zubat, Golbat, Drowzee and Hypno. Thes=
e are Pokemon that perhaps everyone playing the game has already caught, bu=
t until the firm gets around to adding in more Pokemon, this is perhaps the=
best they could do for the game. When capturing, as well as transferring t=
o the Professor, users will be given double the amount of candies they woul=
d usually get, which will certainly help those that haven't managed to evol=
ve a Haunter or Gengar finally tick off that box in their PokeDex.This is t=
he sort of event that a lot of fans will be happy to see, and given that a =
lot of families will be out and about knocking on doors trick or treating, =
Pokemon GO and Halloween to be a good fit for each other. If seeing more of=
the above Pokemon doesn't do it for you, then perhaps the idea of getting =
twice the candy rewards for a buddy Pokemon might, as this will make it eas=
ier to evolve tough Pokemon such as Magikarp and evolutions of the three st=
arter Pokemon that traditionally require more candy.</td>
