pulled an episode of So Random from the schedule to evaluate
it.This is the tweet the rep was referencing: "We hear you &
are pulling both episodes as quickly as possible & reevaluating them... It's
NEVER our intention to make light of eating disorders!"Indeed the Disney Channel
is not entirely bereft of positive body role models. The character Trish,
played by the actress Raini Rodriguezon the show Austin & Ally is
not a classic size 2. But Trish is an outlier on television,
which experts say features mostly very thin young girls. This controversy goes beyond
Disney. The fact that they apologized to Demi Lovato, for possibly making
fun of eating disorders, is proof that the media, parents, needs to
be very careful in the messages we give to our girls and
boys regarding body image, explains Dr. Jeffrey Gardere, an assistant professor at

Three House Republican lawmakers are asking the IRS to explain how nonprofit
seniors group AARP is able to shield hundreds of millions of dollars
from tax levies even though, they say, the group is effectively in
day-to-day control of products offered by private firms with the AARP stamp
of approval.Rep. David Reichert, R-Wash., said companies that use AARPs brand to
sell everything from health insurance to hearing aids are helping the seniors
group make huge profits. All the while AARPs profits gain tax-exempt status. They're
really trying to manage these companies to increase their revenue," said Reichert,
one of the House Ways and Means Committee GOP members to sign
onto a letter sent to the IRS.Republican critics note AARP's income from
United HealthCare alone skyrocketed from 2007 to 2009, even as the recession
was hitting, leaping from $284 million to $427 million during that time,
a 50 percent jump. In 2010, those revenues soared even higher --

on and Beyonce. In tabloid land it is always better to report
it wrong than report it last. The thing that I always joke about
with these pregnancy stories is that eventually it will almost always be
right. It just may be 20 months later, says the founder and
editor of tabloid policing site GossipCop.com, Michael Lewittes. So who were the most
oft pregnant, not pregnant stars of 2011?Jennifer AnistonIn October Star magazine told
us that Jennifer Aniston was secretly married to beau Justin Theroux and
that the pair wed in a secret ceremony because the actress waspregnant!
This came just a couple of weeks after Aniston herself told the
Hollywood Foreign Press, No, were not pregnant. Its just I quit
smoking, so Ive gained a couple of pounds. From October until December Aniston,
who is partial to tight dresses, showed no sign of a baby
bump, but Star refused to give up the vicarious pregnancy narrative and
as recently as December 14th the mag told us that Aniston wa

APDec. 22, 2011: Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul speaks during a campaign
stop in Dubuque, Iowa. For months, Ron Paul was by turns ignored, tolerated
and occasionally even praised by his opponents in the Republican presidential race. But
with the libertarian-leaning candidate surging to the front of the field in
Iowa with less than a week to go before the caucuses, Paul's
extensive record of outside-the-GOP-mainstream comments and views is coming under withering attack
by his competitors. While some of his fellow Republicans have practically adopted his
unwavering criticism of the Federal Reserve and Washington's spending habits over the
course of the campaign, they are picking apart other aspects of his
record -- in particular singling out his foreign policy views as dangerously
isolationist.Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who mostly had stayed away from commenting
on Paul's campaign, took a swipe Wednesday at the Texas congressman's hands-off

returned to their native town each Christmas, but they couldn't afford to
make the trip this year. Marron was able to save enough money,
