NAPA, Calif. Police in Northern California say they are looking for
the mother of a 4-year-old girl who was found dead in her
bed by officers conducting a welfare check.The Napa Police Department said
they have not been able to find 23-year-old Sara Krueger and her
boyfriend, 26-year-old Scott Warner, since the body of Krueger's daughter
was discovered on Saturday afternoon.Police say neighbors reported seeing
the couple carrying luggage away from the apartment complex where Krueger
and the girl lived earlier Saturday.The department said investigators suspect
foul play in the death of the girl, whom they did not
identify. No details about how she died have been disclosed.Elizabeth Cherchourka,
who manages the apartment complex, told Oakland television station KTVU
that she often saw the girl riding a bicycle around the complex
and that she appeared well cared-for.

<p style="font-size:xx-small;">TEHRAN, Iran Iranian state TV says a magnitude 5.5 earthquake Sunday
has jolted a sparsely populated area in the country's south.The report said
the quake hit Sunday evening in the district of Goharan, about 1,200
kilometers (750 miles) southeast of the capital, Tehran. It says many of
the town buildings were damaged and that rescue workers were on the
scene.The quake affected cellular phone coverage in the region with some
15,000 populations. No casualties are reported so far.Iran sits on a series
of seismic fault lines and experiences one slight quake a day on
average.In 2003, some 26,000 people were killed by a magnitude 6.6 quake
that flattened the historic southeastern Iranian city of Bam.
MOPTI, Mali France's ambassador to the United Nations says Mali's peacekeeping
mission will reach full troop strength in July, one year after it
took over peacekeeping activities.Gerard Araud announced the timeline Sunday
while leading a 15-member delegation from the U.N. Security Council on a
two-day visit in Mali.The mission is supposed to have 12,000 uniformed personnel,
but as of last month only 6,400 military personnel and police had
deployed.Mali's northern half fell to Tuareg separatists and then al-Qaida-linked
Islamic extremists following a March 2012 military coup, prompting a French-led
intervention in January 2013.Though the country held successful presidential
and legislative elections last year, security in the north remains precarious.One
objective of the Security Council visit is to accelerate peace talks with
all communities in northern Mali.
