pts.Israeli sites reported brief
cyberattacks on the stock market website and the Finance Ministry website
Saturday night. But the two institutions denied the reports.Israeli media
said small businesses had been targeted, and some websites' homepages were
replaced by anti-Israel slogans. In retaliation, Israeli activists hacked
sites of radical Islamist groups and splashed them with pro-Israel messages,
media said.Shlomi Dolev, an expert on network security and cryptography
at Ben Gurion University, said attacks of this kind will likely become
more common. "It is a good test for our defense systems and
we will know better how to deal with more serious threats in
the future," he said.Dolev said Anonymous had declared on its forums that
the main assault would be in the evening. Hackers have had little
success in their attempts to take over and change Israeli sites so
far and are planning "denial of service" attacks where sites are overwhelmed
and communications are hindered. He said Israel is well prepared to deal
with the attacks. "This is a real battle. It is good training
for our experts," he said.Dolev who also serves as Chairman of the
Inter-University-Communication-Center which connects Israeli universities
and research branches of companies like IBM, said 40 security experts from
the center "are looking forward to play with the attackers."Hackers have
tried before to topple Israeli sites. In January last year, a hacker network

A North Carolina lawmaker says he regrets any embarrassment caused by a
resolution that was proposed and defeated - this week that would
have given the state the right to declare an official religion. The resolution
was filed Monday by two Republican legislators and co-signed by 11 others. The
bill was filed in response to a lawsuit filed in March by
the American Civil Liberties Union against the Rowan County Board of Commissioners,
which court records show opened 97 percent of its meetings in 2007
with Christian prayers. The ACLU accused the panel of violating the First
Amendment by routinely praying to Jesus Christ. One of the North Carolina
bills sponsors, Rep. Harry Warren, said the now-dead resolution was poorly
written. It declared that states are sovereign from federal oversight and
could independently "make laws respecting an establishment of religion."Warren
says he only intended to allow Rowan County officials to continue opening
meetings with prayer, not to establish a state religion. The commissioners,
who deliver the prayers themselves, routinely call on Jesus Christ and refer
to other sectarian beliefs during invocations, the ACLU wrote in a statement.

Below the screen are two swimming pools separated by an elevated island

FBI agents on Friday visited the suburban Washington home of former CIA
Director David Petraeus, who resigned last year after revelations about
an extra-marital affair, according to several news reports. An FBI spokeswoman
told Fox News on Saturday she could confirm only that there was
"law enforcement activity in Northern Virginia."Agents went to Petraeus
home to interview him, but it's not clear whether he was home,
according to USA Today.Officials are saying the visit is part of the
ongoing investigation into allegations that Paula Broadwell, with whom Petraeus
had the affair, improperly received or stored classified documents while
writing his biography, sources told NBC.Agents have also visited Broadwells
home in Charlotte, N.C., that she share with her husband and two
children. The affair was exposed in November as part of an investigation
into threatening emails Broadwell, 40, purportedly sent other women, Tampa,
Fla., socialite Jill Kelley. Petraeus, 60, resigned weeks later and publically
apologized earlier this month.
