eatening Western security by not cooperating with the West -- at
the time, by refusing to bargain with the British-run Anglo-Iranian Oil
Co. -- thereby threatening the supply of cheap oil to Britain and
risking a British invasion that could in turn trigger a counter Soviet
invasion of Iranian oilfields. The documents outline how the Iranian political
earthquake was to be undertaken. One paper titled "Campaign to Install Pro-Western
Government in Iran Authority" lists the objectives as "through legal, or
quasi-legal, methods, to effect the fall of the Mossadegh government" including
"exposing his collaboration with the Communists" and "to replace it with
a pro-Western government under the Shah's leadership."In a document titled
"The Battle for Iran," the CIA reveals the coup plan was called
"Operation TPAJAX." The unnamed author of the history writes that previously
published accounts miss the point that "the military coup that overthrew
Mossadegh ... was carried out under CIA direction as an act of
U.S. foreign policy, conceived and approved at the highest levels of government."
The author adds that the coup plan was "an official admission (redacted)
that normal, rational methods of international communication and commerce
had failed. TPAJAX was entered as a last resort."The once-secret papers
also outline the British government's unease when U.S. diplomats revealed
in the late 1970s that the U.S. and British roles in the
overthrow might
ve Boone and other past mascots
a retirement ceremony in the upcoming academic year. The image of Denver
Boone was originally designed by a Walt Disney artist and named by
a UD student back in 1968 .The cartoony figure, which sports a
scruffy beard and a raccoon skin cap, is reminiscent of the Daniel
Boone character from the 1950s TV show based on the real-life pioneer.Boone
was a legend of early American history and the archetypal hero of
the American Western Frontier.Later, his image and legend fell victim to
revisionist history as he became associated with the forceful displacement
of Native Americans from their land.So how closely linked are Denver Boone
and Daniel Boone?Any association of the Denver Boone caricature with America's
pioneer hero, Daniel Boone, is misguided, said Randell Jones, historian
and author of the book In the Footsteps of Daniel Boone.Mythology and
Fess Parker aside, it is well documented that Daniel Boone never wore
a coonskin cap. Neither did he wear a beard. Moreover, any exploits
by him west of Missouri are speculative at best.

<p style="font-size:xx-small;"> him as a target, they went out and got in
a vehicle and followed him," Ford told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation,
according to AFP."[They] came up from behind and basically shot him in
the back with a small caliber weapon, then sped away," Ford added.Richard
Rhodes, a builder who discovered Lane lying face down, said he was
targeted with a .22 caliber revolver.Police tracked the teens down using
surveillance video from a business that is near the shooting scene, KOCO
reports. On one of the alleged killer's Facebook pages, investigators found
the message: "Bang. Two drops in two hours," Sky News reports."I think
they were on a killing spree. We would have had more bodies
that night if we didn't get them, Ford said in an interview
with the Australian Associated Press.Peter Lane told Australian media there
was no explanation for his son's death."It is heartless and to try
to understand it is a short way to insanity," he said. The mother
of the 16-year-old accused in the killing said her son and his
two friends were part of a wannabe gang, but insisted that he
is not a killer, KOCO reports. The father of the 15-year-old also denied
his son had a role in Lanes death, but said the boy
had run-ins with the law before, News.com.au reports. On Tuesday, Lane's
girlfriend, Sarah Harper, laid a wooden cross at a memorial that formed
along the road where Duncan was killed."We just thought we'd leave it,"
Harper said. "This is his final spot."
according to a search warrant. It also says they
discovered letters from Hannah and a handwritten note, without elaborating
on the contents.Search warrants unsealed last week said Hannah was picked
up from a cheerleading practice at 4 p.m. on Aug. 4, but
Caldwell said the practice was a day earlier.Firefighters found the body
of Christina Anderson, 44, when they extinguished flames at DiMaggio's home
in Boulevard, a tiny town about 65 miles east of San Diego
on the U.S.-Mexico border. A search warrant says she was found near
a crowbar and what appeared to be blood next to her head. The
San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office said she died of a blunt
head injury, without elaborating on the nature of the wound or the
circumstances of her death in a posting to its website. The manner
of death is listed as homicide.Investigators found 8-year-old Ethan Anderson's
body as they sifted through rubble. Authorities identified his remains several
days later by extracting DNA from his bone marrow. The medical examiner's
office said Tuesday that the cause and manner of the boy's death
remained under investigation.Hannah Anderson says she didn't learn her mother
and brother died until after she was rescued. She said on a
social media site last week that she was "on the road to
Idaho" when the fire ignited."He had set to wear (sic) it would
catch on fire at a certain time," she wrote.A memorial service is
scheduled Saturday for the mother and son
