swings would
be too jarring -- but an increasing number are accepting it for
payment. Gallippi's company, BitPay, handles Bitcoin transactions for some
4,500 companies, taking payments in bitcoins and forwarding the cash equivalent
to the vendor involved, which means that his clients are insulated from
the cybercurrency's volatility.Gallippi said many of the businesses are
e-commerce websites, but he said an increasing number of traditional retailers
were looking to get into the game as well."We just had an
auto dealership in Kansas City apply," he said.In March, BitPay said its
vendors had done a record $5.2 million in bitcoin sales -- well
ahead of the $1.2 million's worth of monthly revenue estimated to have
coursed through Silk Road last year.Even artists accept bitcoins. Tehran-based
music producer Mohammad Rafigh said the currency had allowed him to sell
his albums "all over the world and not only in Iran."Gallippi said
the cybercurrency's ease of access was its biggest selling point. With Bitcoin,
"I can access my money from any computing device at any time
and do whatever the heck I want with it," he said. "Once
you move your money into the cloud why would you ever go
back to putting your money in the bank?"Many Wall Street veterans are
skeptical -- and they may feel vindicated after Bitcoin's latest tumble."Trading
tulips in real time," is how longtime UBS stockbroker Art Cashin described

North Korea has positioned two mobile missile launchers on the country's
east coast, senior Pentagon officials tell Fox News -- movement that comes
as Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel warned North Korea is "skating very close
to a dangerous line."The senior Pentagon official told Fox News that a
test of the Musudan missiles could occur "at any time." If the
North Koreans proceed, it would be the first mobile test of this
specific intermediate-range missile, which has a range of 2,500 miles.South
Korea has deployed three naval destroyers, an early warning surveillance
aircraft and a land-based radar system, a Defense Ministry official said
in Seoul, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with department rules.Japan
has deployed PAC-3 missile interceptors in key locations around Tokyo, while
the South Korean and U.S. militaries raised their level of surveillance.Amid
the tensions, people in North Korea's capital Pyongyang began celebrating
a series of April holidays, including the first anniversary Thursday of
their leader's appointment as head of the ruling Worker's Party. The fact
that this would be their first test is giving military leaders an
added layer of uncertainty about the potential for an unintended mistake.Separately,
Hagel and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey addressed the North
Korean crisis during a press briefing Wednesday afternoon. They said America
and its allies want to ratchet down the tensions but Kim Jong

<p style="font-size:xx-small;">Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who faced criticism for controversial
comments about same-sex marriage, stepped down Wednesday as the commencement
speaker for the university.Carson sent medical school Dean Paul Rothman
a letter, obtained by FoxNews.com, saying that he didnt want to distract
from the celebratory nature of the day.""Commencement is about the students
and their successes, and it is not about me," Carson wrote. "I
want to make certain that remains so."In the past few weeks, Carson
has backtracked on comments he made about gay marriage. In an interview
on Fox News, he had said "no group, be they gays, be
they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality ... they don't
get to change the definition" of marriage.Carson, who has become a rising
conservative star after publicly questioning Obama's health care overhaul
earlier this year, later apologized. On Friday, Rothman released a statement
calling Carsons comments offensive and said the university recognizes that
tension now exists in our community because hurtful, offensive language
was used by our colleague, Dr. Ben Carson, when conveying a personal
opinion. Dr. Carsons comments are inconsistent with the culture of our institution.Carson
also stepped down as the speaker for the Johns Hopkins University School
of Education diploma ceremony.Given all the national media surrounding my
statements as to my belief in traditional marriage, I believe it would

the gang problem that is tormenting honest people in his hometown as
he is to blaming law-abiding gun owners for the acts of psychopathic
murderers."House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, repeated his view that the
Senate should act, saying, "It's one thing for two members to come
to some agreement. It doesn't substitute the will for the other 98
members."In a written statement, Obama said he'd prefer stronger language
than the compromise, but he said it represented progress."It recognizes
that there are good people on both sides of this issue, and
we don't have to agree on everything to know that we've got
to do something to stem the tide of gun violence," he said.Other
highlights of Obama's gun agenda -- including bans on assault weapons and
high-capacity ammunition magazines -- seem to have little chance of winning
approval in the Senate, let alone the House.Polls show more than 8
in 10 people back expanded background checks. Even so, the fight will
be difficult in both chambers, especially the House, where increasing numbers
of district lines are drawn to protect incumbents, said James Pasco, executive
director of the Fraternal Order of Police."They're not going to have a
constituency in every instance that is champing for that bill," said Pasco,
whose group has backed the drive for expanded background checks. The director

City Mayor Michael Bloo
