steel-hybrid roller coaster in the world."She goes
up like this. Then when it drops to come down, that's when
it (the safety bar) released and she just tumbled," said Carmen Brown
of Arlington. Brown said she was waiting in line to get on
the ride when the accident happened."They didn't secure her right. One of
the employees from the park -- one of the ladies -- she
asked her to click her more than once, and they were like,
`As long you heard it click, you're OK.' Everybody else is like,
`Click, click, click.' Hers only clicked once. Hers was the only one
that went down once, and she didn't feel safe, but they let
her still get on the ride," Brown told The Dallas Morning News.MyFoxDFW.com
reported that fire crews had to use a ladder truck to get
to the platform below the roller coaster where Esparza's body had fallen.Six
Flags expressed sadness over the death and said it was temporarily closing
the section of the park around the accident site. It didn't say
how long the area would be closed. A message left for Parker
by The Associated Press wasn't returned."We are deeply saddened to share
that earlier this evening an adult woman died in the park while
on the Texas Giant. Park medical staff and local paramedics responded immediately.
Since the safety of our guests and employees is our number one
priority, the ride has been closed pending further investigation. Our thoughts
and prayers are with the family and friends during this difficu
atshirt was a black teenager and angry at being followed then
a long history of stereotypes of young black males as criminals kicks
in for Americans. And it is folly to pretend that if the situation
had been reversed and a black stranger was following Zimmerman that he
would not have been fearful.Again, the media, like the prosecution, and
like the jury all failed to exercise the honesty required to
act wisely. All together the prosecution, media and jury failed to offer
any justice to the mother of a murdered, unarmed 17-year-old who was
not involved in any crime and not threatening anyone. The young man
was followed as he was walking home, confronted by a stranger with
a gun and then killed.Whether the young man threw a punch or
a rock it is hard to see any wisdom in allowing a
killer to walk away because he feared for his safety after scaring
the victim. But one juror, identified by her jury service number as B37,
said in a post-trial interview that Martin has some responsibility for his
death because when George confronted him he could have walked away.It is
also true that George could have avoided the whole incident by staying
in his car.The juror, the wife of a lawyer, allowed that Zimmerman
went too far and did not use good judgment. She also said
the laws were very confusing. And then she concluded idly that someone
lost their life and nothing else could be done about it.Four of
the five other jurors issued a statement disavowin

<p style="font-size:xx-small;"> injunction less than a month after the 10th U.S. Circuit Court
of Appeals ruled that the companies were likely to prevail in the
case. Heaton ruled last month that the company would not be subject
to fines of up to $1.3 million a day for not offering
the birth control methods. There are currently 63 separate lawsuits challenging
the health care law's mandate, 34 of them involving for-profit businesses
like Hobby Lobby.Kyle Duncan, Hobby Lobby's lead attorney, argued that requiring
the company to comply with the mandate would be a burden to
religious exercise. The U.S. Department of Human Services has granted exemptions
from portions of the health care law for plans that cover tens
of millions of people and an injunction for Hobby Lobby would be
in the public interest and would not burden the government, he said. The
government's lawyer, Michelle Bennett, urged Heaton to consider the potential
harm an injunction might create for Hobby Lobby's 13,000 employees and members
of their families who would be denied coverage for the emergency contraceptives. In
handing down his ruling, Heaton said he was surprised that the Denver-based
10th Circuit's decision in the case seemed to extend a person's constitutional
religious exercise rights to businesses. He said it was in the public
interest to issue an injunction to give courts time to resolve "substantial
unanswered questions.""The questions that are being presented here are new,"
the judge said.
bbas will likely
opt for negotiations to avoid a risky confrontation with the U.S. that
could spell the end of his Palestinian Authority, analysts said. "Abbas
is going for talks with Israel to avoid the U.S. blame, because
he couldn't move against its (Washington's) will," predicted George Giacaman,
a political scientist in the West Bank.___Karin Laub, chief correspondent
for the Palestinian territories, has covered the Israeli-Palestinian conflict
since 1987. Mohammed Daraghmeh has reported from Ramallah since 1996. Associated
Press writer Aya Batrawy in Cairo contributed to this report.
