As an anecdotal point of reference, a while back I was in the sipb
office using my os-x laptop configured on one of the static ipv4
addresses, probably general-dink.mit.edu. I was having trouble
connecting to some of the netbsd.org machines and eventually traced it
to the fact that my machine had autoconfigured ipv6, and was trying to
use ipv6 to get to hosts that had aaaa records in dns. Unfortunately,
it appeared that the ipv6 network wasn't actually routed anywhere. I
didn't debug it very far, and ended up disabling ipv6 on my laptop so
I could continue with my original task.
