Sure, I'll gladly delurk (for the moment) to supply that:
I have added packages.debian.org to my nagios, and so far it looks good.
I got these alerts, but limekiller was down then.
I found that I was redistributing the BGP route to MIT from my bbn box
to ISI over my old 6bone tunnel. But, if I got packets I am pretty sure
they would have been forwarded. Still, I shouldn't be offering transit
like that so I filtered it out. (I have a 6bone-era tunnel still up,
and receive 550 prefixes, which I don't use for routing but want to be
able to look at.) So maybe that route was occasionally getting
propagated and causing trouble.
I'll let you know if I see more outages. Tell me if 5 pings every few
minutes is annoying to the server; probably that's ok.
