i bet that block is not nearly as big as i remember it being but i remember=
it being quite a trip

valentines day preparations
even more obsessed with flickr than usual of late
like this one for instance my older brother uploaded it while reminiscing a=
bout the old buggie he rebuilt in the 80s=20
it transported me back in time to simpler sunnier days and its been making =
really happy to stare at today
women who have these hormonal issues typically carry alot of weight around =
the middle (due to the out of control insulin and resultant too high of tes=
tosterone) and a high protein and fiber diet combined with low carbs really=
helps with that an added benefit is that these types of foods are so filli=
ng and you avoid the highs and crashes that people with blood sugar problem=
s live by
i know some people dont love the whole valentines thing but it is so fun to=
me i dont care if the greeting card company made it up- any day where i ge=
t to be pretty treated with sweetness have a declicious dinner and some rom=
ance is right on in my book
and i cheat like alot well usually i ease up on weekends but i feel so crap=
py and bloated again that i cant wait to start eating right on monday but i=
have kind of had to tell myself this is just the new lifestyle and if i wa=
nt to indulge every now and again im going to cause id rather die than not =
be able to have some chips and guac or a slice of cake every now and again =
so if i eat like this 90% of the time then ive noticed that my body or the =
scale doesnt mind if i wander in my choices a bit the other 10% exercising =
everyday helps with this too i feel like its a great trade off- feeling gre=
at and a regular period for a little self control
all day the kids hung out at that corner played on that grass got drinks ou=
t of that hose went through the secret passage way in the juniper bushes an=
d only left the area to go around the block over and over again sometimes i=
t was on bikes with banana seats sometimes roller skates sometimes big whee=
ls sometimes walking even occasionally on skateboards with cardboard boxes =
on them (our cars)=20
but the main thing i love about this picture is tree cover you can see in t=
he upper right corner thats how it was all around the block even on really =
hot days you could find a great place to play in some serious shade everyon=
e had a huge tree or trees somewhere on their property and bushes and ivy a=
nd a great variety of things the only reason we had those young trees on th=
e corner was because my mom sold our big palm tree to some palm springs lan=
dscapers ha
i think they are so cute i love her litte handwriting and she is beyond exc=
ited to pass them out some other projects she and i looked at but didnt get=
around to (of course) from martha (of course)
messes are piling up around me making it hard to relax and get well i cant =
cuddle grant or cate- they need to stay well- so they are steering clear of=
me i am bored and tired and achy

loved san luis obispo i was ready to chill there for good=20
grant and i talked last fall about wanting to take control and own a home a=
nd make some of our dreams a reality so we planned to move back to californ=

i have never been an animal person i swore id never have a dog who wants to=
pick up poop not me but somehow in my baby hungry weakness i was convinced=
to relent by the other two mccalebs who said they desperately needed a pup=
py fine whatever just take care of her and pick up the poop
