I have sometimes the feeling that step 4 can be ignored when one puts

Hi Tad,

The ultimate purpose of the site is to make a quicker way to access all
of this information - whether or not you have local copies. Soon I'll
be adding a full CPAN modules list and more to the site. If there's
content you'd like to see posted I'm very open to feedback.

Thanks,
Robby

Don't worry, your posting behavior can be marked as Alpha, so I guess we
can call it even.

No no :) It's step 4 (well, it should be 2) with the Underpants Gnomes. [1]

It is nothing more than the docs for perlfunc at CPAN in an i-frame on
your site. Why would we find this useful? If we want to search the docs
on line, we can already do so at perldoc.perl.org.

I think what urks people here is that you have taken an on-line resource
that we already have available to us, put it in an i-frame in your site
and are trying to sell it as a new resource. Isn't that dishonest?

Subject: Win32::GuiTest missing some functions
Message-Id: <1157479986.605752.38080@i42g2000cwa.googlegroups.com>

I've been reading through some of the examples for Win32::GuiTest. I
have this module installed in my ActivePerl system.

The main methods for GuiTest are working - indicating that the module
does exist and is installed correctly (via PPM).

However, there are certain methods listed in numereous places on the
web which claim to be using them directly from Win32::GuiTest.
However, they don't exist at all in my GuiTest module using qw(:ALL).
Examples of such methods are: MenuSelect, WaitWindowLike, WaitWindow
etc. Evidence of this can be seen at
http://search.cpan.org/~ctrondlp/Win32-GuiTest-1_50.5/GuiTest.pm

Have these methods been removed from GuiTest? Are they in some other
version etc? Is it only ActiveState's version that is missing them,
etc? The version of Win32::GuiTest on CPAN is 1.3, the same version
number on my system.

Evidence of what can be seen there? That the methods are missing, or
that if you browse the source, the methods are there?

The methods are definitely in the GuiTest.pm file.

So, I upgraded to this latest version using ppm.

I noticed:

Installing C:\opt\Perl\site\lib\Win32\guitest.pm

There is your problem. The file will be found when (because Windows is
case-insensitive) upon encountering the use statement, but Perl's
namespace lookup will fail.

> Have these methods been removed from GuiTest? Are they in some other

The methods are not missing. The .pm file is installed with the wrong
capitalization. Change in to GuiTest.pm for the short term fix. For the
long term solution, file a bug report with ActiveState.

The following program works:

#!/usr/bin/perl

use strict;
use warnings;

use Win32::GuiTest qw( SendKeys WaitWindow );

system 'start sol.exe';

WaitWindow( '^Solitaire' );

sleep 3;

SendKeys('%{F4}');
