There needs to be a pointer in here to a document that informs Google
Groups posters how to quote properly; I'm not the one to do it, since
I've never used GG for posting.

This needs to be followed with a "Speak the best English you can"
It's understood that English is not the first language for many posters,
and nobody expects you to write perfect English. However, you *are*
expected to follow the ordinary conventions for capitalization and
punctuation, and to use complete words rather than text-message style
contractions. Write "please," not "pls," "you are" rather than "u r,"
and so on; cutesy abbreviations are seldom obvious to non-native
speakers. When you follow this guideline, readers can spend more time
answering your question and less time trying to figure out what you're
saying.

How large permillage of the GG posters read the posting guidelines
before posting?

For each Usenet group with own posting guidelines, and to which Google
provides an interface, _Google_ should make respective set of guidelines
available. Until they do, they are showing the whole Usenet community
disrespect.
