xdvi for linux in the sipb locker relies on the existence of
/usr/athena/lib/tex/fonts/*, or some subset thereof; it seems to be unable
to run without these files.
as far as I've been able to tell, we (linux-dev) don't have any packages set
up which create these files, and we don't provide any instructions for
setting it up.
I found that symlinking
/afs/athena.mit.edu/system/pmax_ul4/srvd.77/usr/athena/lib/tex to
/usr/athena/lib/tex on my linux box allowed xdvi to run happily.
Is this a bad idea?
Is this documented anywhere? If not, shouldn't it be?
