There is a new xlogin package available in /mit/linux/packages/xlogin.tgz.
Here are some of the important changes:
- /usr/athena/lib/init/cshrc now uses the cool new add script.
- machtype now accepts a lot of nice arguments, like "machtype -S",
which is used by the cool new add script.
- The package contains "lert", which is used by the new xsession script.
- Theoretically, there was some kerberos problem in the old xlogin
binary which is probably fixed in this one.
These programs are compiled with X11R6 shared libraries, so you must
be running X11R6 to use this package.
There is probably a lot of other stuff to say about this package, but
it's unbelievably late, and I'm not really awake enough to say any of
it.
Send questions and bug-reports to linux-dev@mit.edu, and I'll be more
awake to answer them next week. :-)
Have a nice day.
