You should install the X11R5 compatibility libraries on your
system.  Since many many many people are still running X11R5,
it would be unfair to force them to upgrade.  However, since
it is easy to install the X11R5 libraries with X11R6, we suggest
that people use that route.

For example, Slackware 2.1.0, which installs X11R6, asks if you
want the X11R5 libraries as well.  Just say "yes".
