now that both linux and netbsd have a somehwat stable afs port,
I was wondering if it would be an interesting idea to create
new volumes (something like system.foo) to mount in /afs/sipb/system
these will work like /afs/athena/system, and would contain the same
software. Then, people could mount /srvd on to them, and
a lot of setup scripts could be created to mirror athena's..
(I realize this would take a while, and was suggested in the
past, but is something we could work towards, especially during
Christmas and such)..
so.. I propose the creation of the following volumes:
system.i386_nbsd1.srvd.77
system.i386_linux1.srvd.77
with a quota of ermmm.... two hundred megs?
If people would prefer smaller volumes.. then how about
system.i386_nbsd1.srvd.77.usr
system.i386_nbsd1.srvd.77.etc
system.i386_nbsd1.srvd.77.athena (for /usr/athena/)
etc.. and the same for linux?
any discussion would be appreciated...
