I recently sent a message to linux-help asking if anyone has solutions to both of those problems with smail. I've gotten a couple of responses on how to make it say "from: username@mit.edu". (Which I haven't installed yet, I'll hopefully get around to it soon.) I haven't yet heard any ideas how to make it default to sending "to: username@mit.edu". I've probably said this before: if someone wants to blow away smail and install sendmail, I have no objection. However, I personally will not install, edit, fix, or acknowledge the existance of, sendmail, for obvious reasons. > Why does the sendmail.cf we're distributing put alaises in /usr/lib > rather than /etc? I'm almost certain the sendmail.cf we're distributing was taken directly out of /source, unedited for linux-dev. -Sal.
