The xdm/xlogin/console suite port for Linux is extremely extremely
flaky. I've spent a lot of time groveling through the code which I
basically dont understand and being really annoyed about it, and I've
decided to stop. So if any of you want to play with it, please do.
Some general examples of the flakiness:
- xlogin dies when you enter an incorrect username or password. It
wasn't doing this originally, so I probably broke it accidentally when
trying to fix other things.
- sometimes, more than one /etc/athena/console is running. This
shouldn't happen. This is probably a bug in dm. It's hard to be more
specific.
- general flakiness. things crash randomly. :-(
Good luck.
-Thal.
P.S. Zephyr is still flaky too.
