(An addendum to my last message:
foo-server/picayune/usenet-addresses does not exist anywhere on
picayune's local disk, so it's not part of the machine configuration.)
Shabby has said there is nothing useful in
picayune:/u1/lockers/o2.krb, and Cliff Newman has said there is
nothing useful in picayune:/u1/lockers/vfs. That leaves only the
listserv locker, which, according to Matt Power, is probably out of
date and not irreplacable.
There are apparently a few machines which still mount u1/lockers, but
I have no idea why:
bloom-picayune# /etc/showmount -a | grep lockers
catfish.LCS.MIT.EDU:/u1/lockers
colt45.eecs.umich.edu:/u1/lockers
monk.cs.brown.edu:/u1/lockers
piranha.LCS.MIT.EDU:/u1/lockers
rincewind.mech.virginia.edu:/u1/lockers
rosie.engin.umich.edu:/u1/lockers
sinan.LCS.MIT.EDU:/u1/lockers
I have no idea how old these entries are (rmtab gets updated whenever
anyone attaches sipbftp), or why these people used to use /u1/lockers.
Anyway:
- I plan to blow away /u1/lockers/os2.krb and /u1/lockers/vfs
sometime on June 5 or later if no one objects, since I
already have fairly good confirmation that no one cares
about them.
- I plan to blow away /u1/lockers/listserv sometime on June 14
or later (two weeks from now) if no one objects. I'd
appreciate it if Bill could confirm or deny that it's not
useful any more.
- I plan to create /u2/lockers, just in case someone isn't
confused yet, and export the quiche source tree there.
bloom-picayune has acquired the cname sipb-nfs.mit.edu,
which will be active tomorrow.
- Assuming everything in /u1/lockers goes away, /u1/lockers
will go away as well. If we should retain /u1/lockers, I'll
move /u1/lockers/listserv to /u2/lockers and put a symlink
in its place--or will that confuse the NFS server?
