Has anyone looked into tha transarc translator?  How hard would it be
to modify the client code to talk to that?  Since we do have a license
for the transarc translator, I'd recommend at least looking at that
(since transarc supports it) before we decide not to support a
translator at all.

(Disclaimer: I have no personal experience with the Transarc
translator or its interfaces).
