The Motif 1.2.3 patch release contains ~425 bug fixes. See
  /mit/motifdev/src/MOTIF1.2.3/CLOSEDBUGS-1.2.3 for more information.

Motif 1.2.2 binaries will remain available, probably until the next
major or patch release, under the directores oldinclude,
  old{decmips,sun4,rsaix}{bin,lib}.

If you've had problems with 1.2.2, I suggest you try building
against 1.2.3 and see if that helps.

Questions about this, ask me. Bugs to bugs. Thanks...

  Random compiling tips follow...

If, after the change, you wish to continue to build against 1.2.2 (if
you do, it would be helpful to me to know why you need to), use the
-I/mit/motif/oldinclude option to get the 1.2.2 includes, and make
sure you place it before anything else in the include path like
-I/usr/athena/include - otherwise, you may end up with the 1.2.3
  includes in spite of yourself.

This is also a good idea in general - add -I/mit/x11/include before
-I/usr/athena/include as well, or who knows what you might get. (It
depends on the platform you're building on.) Similarly, use
  -L/mit/motif/foolib and -L/mit/x11/foolib before -L/usr/athena/lib.
