Well, I've been playing. A couple of things:
1) I recompiled zephyr so that hesiod would work right. Now, hesiod.conf
is in /etc/athena instead of / (at least, that is where zhm, etc. looks
for it)
2) I recompiled discuss -- this required fixing the site.conf file to
point to the new directory, fixing a couple Imakefiles, and moving one
link. Now, it will build and install properly (it even installs
libds.a and the discuss and dsgrep man pages now!)
3) I rebuilt the zephyr, discuss, and lib packages. I wound up
removing dlsm from the discuss package, since the discuss tree doesn't
build that program, and also because that program isn't on normal
athena either. These packages are in /mit/linux/packages
4) I removed the .bak packages from there, too.
So, here are the leftover errors for someone else to play with at some
point (It's possible that the reactivate has been fixed, since its
been rebuilt since I sent this mail out)
lib
tar: can't add file usr/athena/lib/libregexp.a : No such file or directory
mhmail
tar: can't add file usr/athena/man/man1/from.1 : No such file or directory
reactivate
tar: Removing leading / from absolute path names in the archive.
