I've created bootable iso images of the SIPB Linux Athena installer.
You can get a version with PCMCIA support from
/mit/linux/people/aatharuv/linux-athena-pcmcia.iso , and one without PCMCIA
support from /mit/linux/people/aatharuv/linux-athena.iso . Note that these
images still require access to the network to install, and are otherwise
identical to the boot floppies created by running linux-install-floppy
from the linux locker.
I haven't been able to test the pcmcia boot image on a laptop, but it
appeared to work on a desktop.
On Athena, you can burn them using the CD-RW's that are on all the black dell
workstations, by reading the instructions in /mit/cdrecord/README .
On Windows, you can download the images from
http://web.mit.edu/linux/people/aatharuv/ , and should be able to use whichever
program came with your CD-R/CD-RW, though you should take care to burn the iso
image directly, and not create a new file system image, using the iso file.
If you have any questions concerning these particular images, feel free to let
us, linux-dev@mit.edu, know.
