Hi, everyone.

If you tell people about the kludgey installer, can you tell them to get
it through me? It's still beta software, and I want to closely monitor
how widely it's deployed so I know just how big a mess I have to clean
up if it turns out the it contains a mistake. Also, I want people who
use it to have a clear idea of what their options are (e.g. can they use
the 6.2 installer instead?) and what the risks with the kludgey
installer are. I would consider both the risks and the likelihood of a
mistake to be negligible under other circumstances, but at the moment I
don't have a lot of time for damage control if anything messy does pop
up, so for now I'm trying to release the software only to people who
can't get linux-athena installed in any other reasonable way.

I've put the install files under tighter permissions so that only people
on this list (kludgey-linux-testers) can read them. Please let me know
if you have any trouble doing so. If so, try running the command

aklog -force

and then try accessing the files again.

Alex.
