Hi. In the rccdb output below, could you change the url
http://web.mit.edu/linux/redhat/linux-net-install-html/rh-net-install.html
to http://web.mit.edu/sipb/doc/rh-net-install.ps? Also, could you
remove the "Configuring Linux-Athena" section and the url it contains?
The documents these url's currently point to are very out of date, and are
going to confuse people badly.
Alex.

Hi,
Here's the network info you need. If necessary, you can pick up any
cabling (UTP, AUI, transceivers) from the OLC office in building N42
(across from the Necco factory) during business hours. Note, the
hostname will not be fully activated for at least one business day.

IMPORTANT LINUX-ATHENA INFORMATION
RCCs are not trained or required to support Linux in any way.
Genrally, all Linux related questions should be directed to The
Student Information Processing Board (SIPB, located on the 5th floor
of the student center). They maintain and support the Linux-Athena
distribution. You can contact them for help on installing
Linux-Athena on your PC.
We would like to warn you that installing an open-code operating
system like Linux can be a dangerous thing. It can make your machine
more likely to get broken into or a good target for packet sniffers.
Generally you should have a clue (or get a clue) about what's going on
with Linux especially where security is concerned. The SIPB can help
with that.
Useful Web Sites:
SIPB Linux-Athena Web page:
http://web.mit.edu/linux/www
Installing Linux-Athena:
http://web.mit.edu/linux/redhat/linux-net-install-html/rh-net-install.html
Configuring Linux-Athena:

Useful Mailing lists:
linux-announce@mit.edu: Low traffic mailing list for Linux-related
announcements. You should subscribe to this to be informed of
security updates in Linux Athena!
linux-help@mit.edu: Q&A forum for problems with Linux (note that since
we don't officially support Linux, this is the place to ask questions).
linux-afs@mit.edu: Like linux-help, but the topic is further
restricted to the use of AFS on a Linux box.
