Hi there,

in the past two days I have been unsuccessfully trying to install
Linux-Athena on my registered computer (Jorge Jovicich, NE20-464, Dell, 2
processors, 2 hard drives, hostname: chouchou, IP: 18.229.1.177). I would
greately appreciate your help in pointing what I am doing wrong.

After completing what looks like a successful installation I find that,
when I login with my Athena username, I land in some sort of temporary
directory (/var/athena/tmphomedir/jovicich) and not in my Athena home
directory. Furthermore, the partition /afs that I created during the
installation is empty. I can still use ssh to login to other machines
though.

For the installation I did the following steps:
1) Created a linux boot floppy.
2) Booted my compter with the floppy and input the required username/ IP
info.
3) For the installation choices I took Athena Workstation + fdisk
4) I created and wrote the following partitions:
hda1: /win2000 (4000M)
hda5: /boot (16M)
hda6: / (2500M)
hda7: swap (1200M)
hda8: /afs (120M)
hda9: /home (rest)
hdb1: /home2
5) Completed the Registration info.
6) Selected Time zone: system clock
7) Defined root password
8) Xconfig: Use graphical login
9) Installation completed succesfully after 1h 20min
10) Reboot

Do you see any errors in these steps? Is it alright to have just one
partition (/home2) for the second hard drive? I don't understand what is
wrong, but for some reason afs is not being set up correctly with this
installation process. Perhaps I need to do something special due to my
double processor machine?

Any help would be great!
Thanks,
	Jorge
