I recently used the SIPB beta installer on a Dell Dimension L433c, a machine
with weird onboard graphics hardware that prevents the X server from working.
Fortunately, the cs department at Temple University support exactly this type
of machine, and have developed a workaround that involves layering a couple of
RPMs over the standard release. This workaround works on my machine. I've
downloaded the RPMs and associated configuration files into
/afs/athena.mit.edu/user/b/e/belmonte/ESP/Linux. This directory also contains
a page of instructions, how_to.html. The relevant steps from this file are
24 through 30 and 38 through 40. None of this stuff is copyrighted, so if you
think it might be useful feel free to put it in the linux locker and credit
the Temple University Computer and Information Sciences Department.
