So, from Oliver, we have the following:

Since register_ws goes to hesreq, the right thing will happen as far as
getting hesiod goes.
If the accounts people decide that more information is needed, later,
we can think about this again. I'm thinking that perhaps an automated
or semi-automated email reply to the user is the right way to get more
information, and deal with confused people who need to fill in the real
form.
I'm thinking a screen near the end of the installer, with wording
something like this:
In order to enable your machine to automatically take Athena updates,
you need to register it with Information Systems (the registration
process creates hesiod cluster information for your workstation,
allowing it to find the correct update to take).
If you are a student, and this is a student owned machine, please
enter your Athena username below, and choose register.
If you this is a departmental or lab machine, you'll need to go
through the web form to register. For this, and to answer any other
questions about the registration process, please see:
http://web.mit.edu/acs/min-std-athena.html
[username blank]
<register> <continue without registering>
Choosing register without entering a username should generate an error,
and an opportunity to go back.
Oliver, feel free to chip in with any other suggestions.
Is this everything we need to know about this? Alex, are you all set?
I'd like to see someone else at least look over the wording. I'll
probably get to documenting it in the one-sheet install guide, soon,
but if anyone else wants to grab that from me, they are, as always,
welcome to.
