Dear SIPB folk,
Except for my user home directory, which I will clean up later, I have
chowned all of the files in the sipb cell previously owned by me in the
sipb cell to root. This is a total of 76825 files. The list is in
/afs/sipb/user/ckclark/chowned-list.gz. I have taken the liberty of
chowning them because I don't want anyone to think that I am
maintaining any of it; as of now, I am not. (I probably caught some
symlinks in there by accident, but it shouldn't be a problem, because
the ownership of files doesn't mean much on AFS.) I have taken myself
off all of the lists in the To: and CC: fields in this message, and
have removed any associated discuss meetings from my .meetings file, so
don't expect me to react to anything posted to them.
Those who are interested in taking over the maintenance of any of the
stuff in the chowned list are welcome to contact me if you need advice
or just want to know the current status of things. However, I want to
make it clear that I am no longer interested in doing any active
maintenance of anything. (I may hack on a thing or two if I feel
like it, but I'm going to try to resist that temptation.)
I have a million reasons for doing this, but I'm not going to give
you any. It's been fun. No hard feelings.
