There is in fact no rh-4.2 compatible java in the java_v1.2.1
locker. The java_v1.1.6 locker has a rh-4.2 compabible java.
You can run it either by explicitly using "add -f java_v1.1.6",
or by using "add java" and then "java -ver 1.1.6".
Redhat 4.2 is so old that programs are not always compiled for it
anymore. I would be surprised if a rh-4.2 compabible java_1.2.1
will ever get installed in the i386_linux2 branch of the java
locker. If you must have v1.2, though, you could probably get
sources for it and build and install it locally on your machine.
Sincerely,
