Actually, what we ended up doing was putting all the people who
needed write access to the Linux and NetBSD install images in root's
.klogin. From the mail I sent on 9/10/99 (to: linux-dev, netbsd-dev and
cc:'d to charon-maintainers):

At the time, it was intentional that no one would have a user account
on charon2. Since then, I believe amu has added himself as a user, so
the others should feel free to add themselves if they wish to. Note
that charon2 doesn't run a telnetd, so you're choices for logging in are
(encrypted) rlogin and ssh; If you choose to use ssh, you'll need to
place a key for yourself in /var/userauth/username/.ssh/authorized_keys
first.
